Building a lasting solution
… or is a quick fix good enough?
Often, people don't know what is making them ill. Often, nobody else knows either.
Why is that?
Everyone needs a roof over their head.
Imagine if you didn't have a home. Suppose you could only afford to build a small house. Would you turn up your nose at that and spend all you had on living in a big hotel instead?
Silly question isn't it?
Building your health
What about your body? Would you prefer it to be like the house (always there for you) or like the hotel (when it's gone, tough)?
Silly question again.
So why do most people choose the hotel?
With good health you're free to grow more wealth. You can then build an extension to your house!
“What's this about a hotel?”
Getting treatment for an illness is like booking a hotel room.
It's fine if you only need the treatment once and then you're back in good health. Just like a hotel room is fine if, after you've been away for a few days, you've a home to go back to.
The problem is, a lot of illness is not like that. Often, treated, the problem disappears for a while — only to return. Often, second time round, it's worse. And the third time …
You don't need that. You need something that will prevent its re-occurring. Like a permanent roof over your head. A new way to live that doesn't make you ill.
When is a treatment not permanent?
Often, after you've recovered, the reason you became ill is still there. If so, you can expect to get ill again.
You need to deal with that reason. If you know what to do, that's fine. (For instance, if someone has a drink problem, they need to go on the wagon). They may need help, but, basically, they know what to do and it's up to them.
What happens when people don't know what is making them ill? Often, learning the Alexander Technique would enlighten them — and put them on the road to lasting recovery.
